Don’t get me wrong, I am all about “open source” development and communities, but does anyone else see a problem for the new Android phones? If they are as advertised “open source apps” one would assume there’s no Google Submission Board (which is fictitious) to “approve” apps. So, theoretically anyone could make an app that steals information from the owners phone and account. What’s to stop that? I grasp that it’s illegal, however if that’s the reasoning behind your arguement then you’re a moron.
Maybe I am ignorant to the method of “app submission”, but if there is a middle-man between developer and consumer then are they actually open source apps? And what carrier is going to allow these phones on their network? Not only is this a violation of most, if not all, terms of service agreements but potentially incredible legal charges. Please someone tell me I am missing something, because I’d like to possible get an Android device.
